Leadership Macon provides training and community orientation to individuals seeking to become more involved in the growth and development of Macon-Bibb County. The year-long program introduces a class of upcoming influencers to the strengths and challenges in Macon-Bibb County. The 2019 Class graduated on November 12, 2019. They celebrated their accomplishments, reflected on experiences, and gained important leadership advice from Dr. Kirby Godsey, Chancellor of Mercer. Class speakers included Ansley Booker and Walter Stafford.

Classmates got a first-hand look into the community’s healthcare facilities and education system. They observed local government leaders and developed a better understanding of ongoing community initiatives. Among these experiences, the 2019 Class raised funds and support for the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park. Learn more about this on-going project here. Congratulations, Class of 2019!
